Drumming Experience
Immerse yourself in a full day of hands-on cultural exploration with our drum making experience.
In the morning session, indulge your senses in the rhythmic artistry of drum making. Discover the rich history and significance of traditional drums as our facilitator provides an overview of the drum making process, from the traditional supplies used to the significance of each element in creating the unique sound and resonance of the drum.
With guidance from our facilitator, you'll craft your very own drum, tailored to your preferences.
After a break for lunch, experience the rhythmic melodies and cultural significance of this ancient tradition. Learn about drum protocol, song types, and basic drumming techniques as you hold a drum and add your voice to the songs.
Throughout the day, engage in discussions and deepen your understanding of round dance songs and their cultural importance. Experience the transformative power of the drum, connect with the Nakota spirit, and discover the beauty of round dance songs in this unforgettable full-day experience.
